As the summer season gradually draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the wonderful experiences I’ve had while meeting with members from across our state at various conferences. It has truly been a great pleasure to connect with so many dedicated individuals who are committed to advancing the cause of damage prevention in Mississippi.
Throughout these gatherings, we welcomed countless attendees who stopped by the Mississippi 811 booth, eager to engage with our damage prevention coordinators. These interactions were invaluable, as they provided an opportunity for sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and voicing concerns. The Mississippi 811 Damage Prevention Coordinators excel in their roles, building strong relationships with our members and excavators across the state. They are always prepared and willing to assist in any way possible.
I was particularly pleased to observe a robust number of training sessions scheduled with the coordinators. The free training sessions are designed to further educate our members about recent changes in legislation as well as best practices in the field. These educational opportunities are vital for ensuring that everyone is well-informed and prepared to navigate the evolving landscape of damage prevention effectively.
As we transition into the fall season, I look forward to seeing everyone on the coast at the upcoming Mississippi Damage Prevention Summit in November. This summit offers a unique opportunity for utility companies and excavators of all kinds to come together, fostering networking, learning and collaboration. By working together, we can strive to make Mississippi a leader in damage prevention.
