Ticket Talk: A New Two-Way Communication Tool

Louisiana 811 is excited to offer Ticket Talk, an innovative two-way communication feature that allows excavators and locators to message one another in a streamlined text message-like format. Some of Ticket Talk’s features include:

Efficient Communication
Reach the right person fast! To contact locators, excavators simply select one or more facilities to send a message to. Only the selected users will receive a conversation message, and alerts for new messages can be sent as email notifications to any email addresses included on the locate request.

Easily Accessible
Excavators can access Ticket Talk through ITICnxt or by clicking a link in the emailed copy of their ticket. Facility operators can access Ticket Talk through Locator Tickets, Ticket Check, or a link in the emailed copy of their ticket. Messages on any ticket can also be publicly viewed using Ticket Search or Search & Status.

Tied Directly to the Locate Request
Stored right within the existing locate request, Ticket Talk messages offer a public history of nearly real-time communication and ensures all communication is documented and easily accessible.

It’s important to note that conversations in Ticket Talk do not replace any stakeholder’s legal responsibilities or the requirement to follow the Louisiana Underground Utilities and Facilities Damage Prevention Law. Ticket Talk conversations do not create a locate request or amend, update, or alter the original notice of planned excavations in any way.
