Leading with Vigilance

How Jennifer Ogle and Danny Chauvin are Redefining Pipeline Safety at Energy Transfer

In the high-stakes world of pipeline protection, safety isn’t just a protocol—it’s a culture. For the first quarter of 2026, Energy Transfer is proud to recognize two individuals who have become the living embodiment of that culture: Jennifer Ogle and Danny Chauvin.

As Supervisor and Lead Specialist within the Pipeline Protection group, Ogle and Chauvin bring a combined 54 years of experience to the field. Their tenure—15 and 39 years respectively—represents more than just time on the clock; it represents a lifelong dedication to the vigilance and foresight required to keep our communities safe.

A Foundation of Excellence

Garry Tripp, Sr. Director of Technical Services at Energy Transfer, has seen this dedication firsthand. Speaking on Jennifer’s trajectory, he noted, “I’ve had the privilege of knowing and working with Jennifer for over 13 years. Her work ethic, constant optimism, and dedication to all aspects of Damage Prevention have been remarkable.”

Tripp highlighted her focus on continuous improvement and communication as key drivers for her success. “In recognition of her efforts and overall performance, she was promoted to Supervisor in February 2021 and has led her group to be one of the best damage prevention departments in the industry,” he added.

Danny Chauvin’s arrival at Energy Transfer brought a similar level of prestige. Though he joined ET in June 2023, his reputation preceded him. “I met Danny 10 years ago when he was a leader at CenterPoint Energy,” Tripp recalled. “When Danny came to Energy Transfer, I knew that he would have an immediate impact on the success of ET’s Public Awareness and Damage Prevention programs.”

Since moving into the Damage Prevention group in October 2024, Danny has utilized his 40 years of pipeline experience to mentor his team and identify practices that sharpen the company’s safety edge.

A Measurable Impact on Safety

What sets this duo apart is their ability to turn technical expertise into tangible results. One of their most significant achievements involves the development and delivery of specialized workshops. Year after year, Ogle and Chauvin have trained over 1,300 workers in safe digging practices and utility awareness. This proactive approach ensures that safety is at the forefront of every project before a single shovel hits the ground.

Beyond education, their innovative thinking has led to structural improvements within Energy Transfer. By spearheading a new incident reporting system, they provided the data and clarity needed to drive a measurable decrease in utility strikes over the past year.

Leading by Example

While the numbers—dollars saved, hours preserved, and strikes reduced—are impressive, the heart of their contribution lies in their mentorship. Both Jennifer and Danny are known for “making things right,” treating every project as a unique opportunity to protect lives and preserve vital infrastructure.

“Their tireless efforts have saved countless hours and dollars, but most importantly—they have prevented harm. Jennifer and Danny are heroes in every sense of the word,” said Molly Carriere, Sr. Manager at Energy Transfer.

By partnering with internal training teams to raise awareness about 811 protocols, they have fostered a sense of responsibility that extends far beyond their immediate department. They serve as mentors to new team members, ensuring their decades of wisdom are passed down to the next generation of safety professionals.

“Jennifer and Danny are natural leaders who consistently go above and beyond to help and support others,” said Saul Shaw of Energy Transfer. “Their positive attitude and steady leadership create an environment of trust and confidence. They inspire me and everyone around them to be the best they can be.”

The Spirit of Prevention

The work of Jennifer Ogle and Danny Chauvin goes above and beyond the call of duty. They don’t just respond to threats; they anticipate them. They don’t just follow protocols; they implement them.

As we celebrate them as our Q1 Damage Prevention Heroes, we celebrate the spirit of prevention itself. Their example serves as a roadmap for others to follow, proving that with enough passion and dedication, we can ensure that everyone returns home safely, and every piece of infrastructure remains unscathed.
