What a great year it has been! It has truly been a pleasure and a privilege to see so many of you throughout the summer at the various conferences held across the state. These events have given us meaningful opportunities to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and continue sharing the important message of damage prevention throughout Mississippi. From utility representatives, contractors, and elected officials, we sincerely appreciate every opportunity to meet, collaborate, exchange ideas, and present alongside each of you.
It has also been a very busy, productive, and exciting year at Mississippi 811. We recently launched MS811 University, an online training platform designed to support both new and experienced users. This platform offers comprehensive portal training as well as Digging Safely in Mississippi courses, helping ensure that best practices are accessible to everyone. Upon successfully completing each course, participants receive a certificate of completion recognizing their achievement. Additionally, those who successfully complete and pass the portal training are eligible to receive full portal access, allowing them to take advantage of the tools and resources available to support safe excavation practices.
We are also excited to announce that the MS811 mobile app is nearing its official launch, which will make it even easier and more convenient to access Mississippi 811 services while on the go, whether in the field or in the office. In addition, we have recently launched our Active Ticket Map, which provides a valuable and user-friendly tool for viewing excavation activity across the state in real time, helping improve awareness, coordination, and safety.
As Mississippi continues to champion the importance of damage prevention, we remain fully committed to developing new resources, expanding educational opportunities, and introducing innovative tools that make safe digging easier, more efficient, and more accessible for everyone involved.
