The impact of the Broadband initiative funded by the federal government for the states, including our home state, Louisiana, has brought a variety of new factors into the utility scene. Our organization, Louisiana 811, has overseen these utilities and has strived to preserve them since 1988. While most of the factors brought by the initiative promise to help modernize our rural areas and provide them with new opportunities, with access to fiber internet, it also brings the unseen factor of clashing with the preexisting utilities that are currently underground. With these new factors coming into play, the spotlight shines on the expert performance and diligence of Louisiana 811’s ability to oversee the current situation.
Our organization has been doing its absolute best to respond to the factors brought with the Broadband initiative and we as a group encourage others to join us in helping to address the situation. We will continue to work with the initiative in helping our community receive fiber internet and the great opportunities that come with it. We will also continue to help preserve the existing utilities that are under our care and help Louisiana run day-to-day.
